Cystoscopy
Preparation and aftercare notes for an in-rooms bladder inspection.
What it involves
- • A cystoscopy allows Prof Jeffery to look inside the bladder with a fine camera.
- • It is scheduled by the practice when required after assessment.
Before
- • Bring previous urine tests, scans and referral notes if you have them.
- • Tell the team if you have symptoms of a urinary infection before the appointment.
On the day
- • The procedure is explained first and proceeds only with your consent.
- • Ask the practice whether you should arrange transport afterwards. [CONFIRM]
Afterwards
- • Some burning or light blood in the urine can happen briefly afterwards.
- • Call the practice for fever, heavy bleeding, increasing pain or difficulty passing urine.
